Challenge:
To design a spacious pool house to be able to work and vacation at home needed to include a large entertainment room for games, activities, and lounging while still a short walk to enjoy the hot tub or pool. The second floor will include a home office and guest quarters with large sundeck overlooking the pool and landscaping. Of course, included are all the amenities to make the facility both functional and enjoyable for work and play. Lastly, the incorporation of a two-car garage is essential to meet the needs of the client’s active family. All this combined with limited space, daunting hillside, and exclusive neighborhood created numerous challenges.
Solution:
Our years of design-build experience, common sense attitude, and work with designers, architects, engineers, and sub-contractors allowed us to develop a plan that enabled us to meet the client’s wishes. Adjoining the entertainment area is a full-size custom kitchen with upgraded premium stainless steel appliances. Luxurious granite countertops compliment the white custom cabinets and ceramic tile backsplash with accent features above the stove and sink. A laundry room, changing area and full bath complete with steam shower allow the clients to take full advantage of both outdoor and indoor activities. The second floor includes the client’s home office with barreled hardwood ceiling and adjoining bar and guest bedroom with a full bath. The client’s private deck overlooks the pool and beautiful landscaping and stone garden walls. Coffered ceilings custom crown and beautiful tile bathrooms and floor are added touches that make this addition both appealing and functional. The final touch is a two-car garage with adjoining enclosed breezeway that allows passage into the pool house in case of inclement weather. They now are able to work and vacation at home.
